Chinese troops and a group of Indian soldiers have been at a stalemate
for around 20 days in Doklam in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous
Region. This takes place just ahead of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's
visit to the United States. Some say the move is an attempt from India
to show the US it has the power to contain China. Can China and India
use their memberships in international blocs, such as the SCO, which
India officially joined last month, and BRICS, to reach a peaceful
solution? Yang Xiyu, senior research fellow at the China Institute of
